Dr. K. Prabu, holds a Ph.D in Tribology (Nano Lubricants)  with nearly 2 decades of teaching and industrial experience. He has a wide range of expertise includes Castings, Testing, product Design, Production, Teaching, Research and Development. Also, Dr. Prabu has an in-depth knowledge and is Conversant with high-end CAD/CAE packages like Pro/E, UniGraphics nx2, Solid Works, Inventer-series & ADMS, Arena-11.0. His expertise includes Estimation, Planning and scheduling of Project and Studying Client’s Inputs including Standards and Specifications, interacting with Clients for Technical Clarification. He is also involved in Programming, selecting tools, trouble shooting in production and CNC Programming. His expertise encompasses Parametric Model Creation with Manufacturing Techniques to reduce rejection rates and to increase productivity along with Design improvement as a part of improved Design and Modeling of detailed Assembly.

During his tenure, Dr. Prabu has also been the in-charge of casting and testing lab where he was actively involved in industrial interactions related to aluminum alloy and related tests for companies as well as research support to research scholars.

His future plans include improving the Casting, Testing and Research capability by installing Bottom Pouring type Stir Casting Machine (BSCM) with Vacuum Die Casting Attachment & Essential Accessories, Ducom Pin-On-Disk tester to characterize lubricants for wear preventive (WP), extreme pressure (EP), and frictional properties, rolling contact fatigue and shear stability behavior with appropriate attachments and Comparison of Four test Results on a single Screen.
