What is TOEFL?

Test of English as a Foreign Language, popularly known as TOEFL, is the world’s prestigious English language test accepted by more than 11,00 universities for study in over more than 150 countries. TOEFL is also necessary for individuals going for work and immigration. TOEFL evaluates the student’s ability to read, write, speak and listen.

  • The applicant must be above 16 years of age and have a valid travel document (passport).
  • The TOEFL exam conducts 50 tests every year at its authorized centre
  • TOEFL score is valid for up to 2 years

Exam Pattern/Sections for TOEFL Academic

Listening (Duration 40-57 minutes)

The listening section of the TOEFL exam evaluates the applicant's ability of understanding. The section consists series of questions which need to be answered after listening to the record audios.

Reading (Duration 60-72 minutes)

The reading section comprises of 3-4 paragraphs, the student needs to read the paragraphs carefully and answer the question according to the paragraphs.

Speaking (Duration 11-15 minutes)

The speaking section in TOEFL exam evaluates the speaking skills, the student needs to express opinion and thoughts regarding the given topic.

Writing (Duration 60 minutes)

Writing section is about expressing opinion with the help of writing, students might be asked to write an essay based on the reading and writing section.
